It aint gangsta speak or anything like that but a fantastic challenge I have heard about through reading a post over on Julie Matkins blog.
SoFoBoMo is short for Solo Photo Book Month where a bunch of photographers all make solo photo books start to finish, in 31 days. It’s modeled loosely on NaNoWriMo, where participating writers all write novels in a month, and NaSoAlMo, where musicians write and record solo albums in a month.
A book is something I have been meaning to do for quite some time now and this challenge has given me no excuse not to go for it. So between May 1st until June 30th I will be dedicating 31 days to get my 35 pictures together for a book.
If you feel up to the challenge check out the SoFoBoMo webpage to register

Is this like the photo365 only the pics are going to be printed. In a book. Not just put on flickr. Yikes.
But I’ve thought about doing a monthly photobook thing for a while. Might give it a go too.
Phil, it’s not really like a photo365 because it is not about having one photo for each day but rather about completing the project in a short period of time.
The book must contain a minumum of 35 photos and the concept is that everything from planning, to photographing, to designing the book is completed within a 31 day period.
There’s no reason all of the photos couldn’t be taken during one or two photo-sessions
I do nanowrimo every year - it’s great fun and a great writing exercise. I’d love to do the photo one ..must check it out!
SoFoBoMo 2010 will run from June 1 to July 31.
